Health-focused services expand as Instacart launches Instacart Health

Apart from sustainability, health-focused initiatives are winning the hearts of consumers. Many grocers and delivery platforms, including Instacart, are launching apps to tackle three main initiatives: nutrition security, food as medicine and easier access to healthy options. Fidji Simo, CEO at Instacart, has launched Instacart Health as a platform to digitally address these key areas and make it easier for consumers to eat well. Instacart Health has partnered with health experts and influencers to design shoppable carts. The app will label health tags such as low-sodium and gluten-free; and an expanded “healthy shoppable recipe library.” Instacart Health also launched Fresh Funds, letting firms provide people with monetary assistance to buy nutritious food on Instacart.
