Wonder, a US-based food delivery startup, is valued at $3.5B after raising $350M

Famous e-commerce entrepreneur Marc Lore founded Wonder, a food delivery startup, and it is now valued at $3.5 Billion. The startup raised $350 million in a recent funding round, as revealed by the Wall Street Journal. Wonder has a network of truck-based restaurants, and it also operates a service called Envoy that lets users to order food from local eateries. Envoy reportedly accounts for about a quarter of the startup’s revenue. Bain Capital Ventures, amongst others, led the funding round. The startup is backed by a consortium of other prominent tech investors, including Accel, New Enterprise Associates, General Catalyst, and Forerunner Ventures. Previously, Lore co-founded Jet.com, an online retailer acquired by Walmart in 2016 for $3.3 billion. CFO Marc Lore also handled Walmart Inc.’s e-commerce unit. Wonder caters to around 132,000 households in New Jersey. The startup will grow its services and tap more areas this year. By 2035, Wonder plans to make its service available nationwide.
