Walmart employs AI ‘assistant’ for corporate productivity boost

Walmart is deploying AI tools in the workplace, including a new AI “assistant” designed to enhance productivity for its 50,000 corporate employees. This AI tool, known as “My Assistant,” will simplify document summarisation and streamline project management tasks. The retail giant’s aim is to relieve employees of repetitive and mundane responsibilities, allowing them to focus more on enhancing the customer experience. Walmart also intends to integrate this AI tool into employee orientation processes, assisting with activities like benefit package selection. In addition to office applications, Walmart has been incorporating AI into its customer service operations, employing chatbots, voice-ordering systems, and text-to-shop features. The company is increasingly harnessing AI technology to understand customer behaviour and enhance its supply chain efficiency, and it’s even exploring drone delivery services.
