Walmart is further embracing drone delivery by partnering with Wing, an Alphabet subsidiary. The service will launch from two Walmart stores in the Dallas metro area, expanding its reach to approximately 60,000 additional homes within a 6-mile radius of these locations. Walmart already operates 11 drone hubs in the Dallas region. Customers in the designated areas can utilise the Wing app to check if their homes fall within the drone delivery range and order a variety of items, including frozen products, household essentials, last-minute meals, and fragile items like eggs. This move aligns with Walmart’s commitment to innovative and environmentally friendly last-mile delivery solutions.
