DoorDash launched Accelerator for Local Goods programme to support businesses owned by minorities

DoorDash is in the news for launching a thoughtful cohort programme called Accelerator for Local Goods. The delivery firm launched this platform to support local CPGs owned by entrepreneurs who are women, transgender, immigrants, or black. The initiative started its first six-week programme with more than 40 companies from Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C. Many delivery platforms and grocers are now allocating resources to support startups run by minorities. The partner firms include Hoppy Planet Foods, Chicago French Press, and Call Me Caramel. The cohort of businesses has 77% of female participants, 40% of black or African American members, 7% of Hispanic or Latino, and 21% Asian or Pacific Islanders. DoorDash will reward every member with a $5,000 grant to support their business needs, and access to marketing and sales support from DoorDash.
