Tulips, an Italian digital retailer, seeks funds to expand its dark stores

Tulips, an Italy-based e-grocer, is planning to raise €4M through the CrowdFundMe platform to grow operations. The online retailer will expand the number of dark stores in the country and tap more cities. Tulips is seeking funds to augment its tech functions, grow its team and invest in promotion plus marketing activities. Tulips was founded in 2019 by Enrico Martini, CEO, and Mattia Mordenti, COO. The e-tailer currently serves 4,500 customers per month in the Emilia-Romagna region, including Bologna, with €75 as an average value per order. Its dark stores are more than a fulfilment centre. Each dark warehouse has a deli lab, where its food experts prepare ready-to-cook meals. The chefs cut meat and cheese foods to serve them fresh to customers.
