Tops Markets joins DEA’s Drug Take Back Day and celebrates store renovations

Tops Markets LLC is actively participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s 25th Annual National Drug Take Back Day, designating all 54 of its pharmacy locations as approved drop-off sites for prescription drugs. Shoppers can use clearly marked disposal bins to safely dispose of unused and unwanted medications, and Tops Markets is collaborating with the Department of Environmental Conservation for this initiative. During the last National Drug Take Back Day in April 2023, over 663,725 pounds of medication were collected. Since the programme’s launch in 2010, more than 17.3 million pounds of medication have been safely disposed of nationwide. Tops Markets encourages year-round prescription drug returns at its pharmacy locations. Additionally, the company recently reopened two of its Niagara Falls stores after significant renovations totaling over $3.7 million, featuring enhancements in fresh departments, expanded product offerings, and the introduction of the Flashfood programme, which allows shoppers to purchase discounted items and collectively reduce food waste.
