Marqt, the Dutch organic supermarket chain, is changing its brand name to Ekoplaza Foodmarqt. Udea, the parent company of Ekoplaza, acquired Marqt almost three years ago, and now the brand has started repositioning its image and name. Udea is an organic foods wholesaler that offers natural personal care products and sustainable non-food items. Marqt revealed its new name and has around 12 stores in the Netherlands, mainly in and around Amsterdam. In 2019, Dutch retailer Albert Heijn acquired several Marqt outlets in the Dutch cities of Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
