Holiday shoppers embrace AI: Kroger report reveals increased dependence on AI for festive planning

A recent report from Kroger’s 84.51° data analytics service reveals that 44% of holiday shoppers plan to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their preparations this season. Among them, 15% intend to use AI for creating grocery lists, 13% for exploring new recipes, and 11% for generating gift ideas. While AI adoption for recipes sees an uptick, traditional sources like friends, family, recipe websites, cookbooks, and Pinterest remain influential for 27% of individuals venturing into new recipes. Notably, 51% plan to dine out less, with 68% maintaining their grocery spending compared to last year. Baking festive treats ranks high (55%) among planned activities, while home-based festivities like watching movies (61%), indoor/outdoor decorating (49%), and admiring holiday decorations (48%) without cost are popular holiday pursuits, as outlined in Kroger’s insights.
