H-E.B is the latest grocer to test livestreaming to sell Christmas-related home décor essentials

Livestreaming is a multi-billionaire business in many markets such as China. US market is on its way to hitting $6 billion this year and $25 billion by 2023. Giant grocery players like Walmart, Albertsons and now H-E-B have rolled out livestreaming to sell home essentials. The grocers offer shoppable content by partnering with influential celebrities. The Texas-based grocer has to close many stores during the pandemic, including its Cooking Connections section. So, livestreaming is a ray of hope for H-E-B. Around 400,000 people joined the 12-hour long live shopping session called Grilling Open. Grilling Open is a live stream to teach cooking classes to consumers using products from the H-E-B’s website.
