Grocery evolution: Wonder opens store-in-store at Walmart to capture mealtime spending

Wonder, the omnichannel food hall company founded by Marc Lore, has opened its 11th storefront within a Walmart in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, marking its first collaboration with a big-box retailer. This move reflects a trend among grocery retailers seeking to capture more of consumers’ mealtime spending. Dubbed a “Fast Fine” eatery, Wonder offers dishes from eight restaurant brands. As consumers increasingly rely on grocery stores for ready-to-eat meals, partnerships between supermarkets and restaurant brands are on the rise. While such initiatives hold promise for meeting consumer demands, challenges persist.
