Cub Foods rolls out predictive fresh food ordering tech to curb food waste

Earlier, Cub Foods, a Minnesota-based retailer, partnered with Afresh Technologies to test its AI-based fresh food tech to curb food waste effectively across the retailer. The grocer is now deploying the predictive food tech to more of its stores across its corporate-owned supermarkets in the US. Matt Schwartz, CEO and co-founder of the startup, reported that Afresh plans to roll out its Fresh Operating System to about 2,500 grocery stores by the end of 2022. The tech startup had already deployed its food solution to 200 at the beginning of the year. Giant grocers, including Albertsons, WinCo Foods and Heinen’s, have already partnered with Afresh.
