The grocery industry is currently working together to provide food to needy people via smooth online accessibility. Various grocers such as Walmart, Hy-Vee and Buche Foods pilot the Special Supplement Nutrition Program digitally for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). Walmart will test the WIC online ordering at 85 stores from next year. The WIC online ordering is a part of a multi-phase pilot tested by USDA and a non-profit research firm focused on nutrition, Nebraska-based Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition (GSCN), to eliminate food insecurity.
