Insights for the Food and Grocery Industry

Tesco is the latest grocery giant to install hi-tech cameras for product tracking and let shoppers escape the conventional checkout line. The grocer has rolled out its first checkout-free store named GetGo on High Holborn, London. Shoppers will install Tesco’s app and scan the QR code to get into the store. Cameras will tally the products placed in the carts, and customers can leave the stores after picking up their groceries. They will receive a digital receipt on the app and Tesco will deduct the amount from their digital bank accounts.
