To expedite and enhance its operations, Target revealed its stores as hubs strategy and sortation stores some time back. The retailer will now be rolling out three sortation outlets, which brings the total number of such stores to nine. Two of the store would be in the greater Chicago area and one in the Denver metro area. The other six sortation stores are located in Houston, Dallas, Philadelphia, and Lawrenceville, Georgia. Sortation outlets aid in eliminating the sorting process from Target’s backrooms. This, as a result, frees up space at Target outlets. These centres also converge orders and batch deliveries and make the task easy for delivery associates. Eventually, Target would increase the speed of delivery for its customers as sales grow.
