Meijer, a grocery chain in US, is reducing food waste with a digital app

Meijer has teamed up with Flashfood to work on a food waste reduction program. Headquartered in Canada, Flashfood is a digital app that offers up to 50% discounts on fresh food items like meat and produce that are nearing their best before date. The app lets the customers select discounted products from Meijer, pay through E-payment options, and then pick the order from selected Meijer stores. Meijer has witnessed a 10% reduction in food waste.
