JackBe, a curbside drive-thru grocer, is set to launch its first outlet in Edmond, Oklahoma. Ruhter and three co-founders founded the firm with the notion of pick-up only—no stepping inside the store to shop. Orders are placed using the JackBe app, and when they are ready, the shopper is met by a JackBe representative. The service is free, and there is no minimum purchase requirement.

The Edmond, Oklahoma-based firm stated in April 2022 that it had concluded a $3.5 million SEED financing round and that it expected to collect a further $3.5 million in pre-Series A fundraising with the objective of opening two more locations in the Oklahoma City region in early 2023. Ruhter also stated that the JackBe shops will soon provide prepared meals as well as local products, such as those from the “Made in Oklahoma Coalition.”
