Ikea launches a shopping mall named Livat in the UK

Ikea, the Swedish furniture giant, has just launched its shopping centre named Livat in West London. The retailer bought Kings Mall two years ago and has spent £170m on the launch of 37,000 square metres Livat. Along with the Ikea outlet, The mall also has Lidl, a Library of Things, a social enterprise, and Sook, the event lounge and rent-by-the hour retail space. To offer food and entertainment options to consumers, the mall will have local food kiosks with Ikea’s own Swedish Deli and two cafeterias selling meatballs, open sandwiches and coffee. The Swedish retailer is also eyeing further expansion in the UK and across Europe and North America.
