Alibaba’s Idle Fish, an app that trades second-hand goods, hits 100 million monthly active users. This app is like a flea market in a consumer’s smartphone that offers discounted products. The platform deals with a consumer-to-consumer business model and promotes the recycling of products. Idle Fish lists more than one billion products on its app every year. The company’s latest finding suggested that consumers mostly search and buy products from the beauty, luxury, pet and fashion-related categories. The research also revealed that 60% of the active users were born after 1990, and are from Generation Z.
