Grocers are leveraging the support of registered nutritionists to promote healthy eating

The Food Industry Association (FMI) lately found in its latest report that registered nutritionists are fueling the growth of health and wellbeing trends. Many grocers, like Walmart and Dollar General, have increasingly started supporting the “food as medicine” concept. The research further revealed that 81% of surveyed food retailers hire and engage dietitians, with almost two-thirds (65%) at the corporate level, nearly a third (31%) at outlets or virtually and 12% regionally. Around early half of the retailers (48%) said their registered nutritionists maintain strategic leadership roles.
