Amazon will go toe to toe with its Dutch competitor Bol.com and will launch its first delivery fulfilment centre in the delivery hub in Antwerp, Belgium. De Standaard, a Belgian newspaper, detailed that Amazon will deliver parcels to small and medium-sized local delivery companies and is expanding its capability to meet higher demands. Former state postal service Bpost is the Belgian partner of the e-commerce giant. The new fulfilment centre will create about 250 jobs, 50 direct employees and 200 delivery drivers. These positions will include both gig workers and also employed by a logistical company.
