Alibaba has rolled out two more outlets of Store-X, a members-only hypermarket chain. The giant retailer wants to target higher income consumers. Disposable income per capita in China grew by 700% from 2000 to 2020, according to Statista. The firm disclosed that it is planning to open eight more Store-X outlets. The eight stores would bring the number of stores to 11 since it launched the chain last October. The move came after China relaxed the two-child policy. Couples in China are allowed to have three children now and the retailers are gearing up to meet the growing needs of affluent consumers.
