Airlift Technologies lays off 31% of its workforce to revamp its strategy

Airlift Technologies, a grocery delivery startup from Pakistan, raised funds worth $85M last year in a Series B funding round and gained a lot of traction. However, the delivery startup is reporting troubles in its organisation as it is laying off around 31% of its workforce. Just like Gorillas, Airlift is also halting its delivery operations in several cities, both in Pakistan and South Africa. This news might have jolted its employees, as the Lahore-based Airlift had promised to create around 200,000 jobs in the Pakistani market. The delivery service will now only be available in the big cities like Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. Brutal competition in the grocery delivery space might be one of the reasons Airlift is retreating its services.
