Whole Foods Market partners with Amazon to open a checkout-free store

Amazon and Whole Foods Market have been working together to roll out the grocer’s Just Walk Out store in Washington, D.C. The 21,500 square-foot checkout-free store is at 2323 Wisconsin Ave. N.W. in Glover Park. The grocer has stocked up the retail outlet with fresh produce from Mid Atlantic’s Local Forager Kathleen Leverenz. The outlet features a grocery and prepared food section, full-service butcher and seafood division, and grocery, amongst others. Shoppers can use Amazon One to enter the store and pay for the groceries using their palms.
