A tech-enabled grocery startup called Lifvs is changing the landscape of grocery shopping in the Scandinavian country. The Swedish startup hopes to keep consumers’ kitchen cabinets stocked with essential grocery items in rural areas. These areas were abandoned by previous retailers due to a lack of supply of quintessential products like milk, bread, meat etc. The stores have launched 300-square-foot modular structures in Bålsta, Sweden and rely on smartphones to manage transactions and inventory. A mobile-based app is required to enter and scan products in the store. These stores also come with a locker for consumers to pick their online orders.
