Insights for the Food and Grocery Industry

Hy-Vee, a US-based supermarket chain, is piloting aisle-scanning robots to five more stores in Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska. Simbe Robotics has developed robots that come with in-built HD cameras to track inventory on the grocery shelves. The bots gather more data than human workers can in a shorter period and provide higher accuracy. This data helps the grocer manage out-of-stock items effectively and plan for future consumer demand. Hy-Vee is bringing the latest version of robots that have upgraded sensors named Tally 3.0.
