Edeka, Germany’s biggest grocer, saw huge success during the pandemic as it recorded growth of almost 10%. The sales spike was driven by Edeka’s 3600 independent retailers. Edeka’s group sales rose by 9.5% to £61 Billion. The grocer’s discount subsidiary Netto witnessed sales go up by 7.9%. Independent retailer groups of Edeka saw collective revenue growth of 14.2%.
