An automated mini-restaurant Exki fridge ready to serve healthy meals to customers anywhere, everywhere

A Belgian lunch chain Exki with smart refrigerators is about to roll out its vending machines to offer healthy, ready-to-eat meals to customers. The automated fridge-like vending machine works on RFID technology. Customers can swipe their card or scan a QR code through its app to open the fridge and grab healthy food while working or travelling. CEO Nicolas Morlet revealed that the digitised fridge, made in Italy, is already installed in a hospital in Brussels. The startup has soft-launched its fridge in various European countries, including Brussels, Antwerp, Paris, the Ile-de-France region, and Luxembourg. German grocer Aldi is the cheapest grocer of 2021, beats Lidl

An annual survey conducted by Which?, a research firm, revealed that Aldi has outdone Lidl, and been crowned as the cheapest retailer of the year 2021. The report also showed that Aldi maintained inexpensive prices for 12 months, whereas Lidle kept prices affordable for six months. In 2021, many grocers increased an average of 3.4% of prices. Waitrose prices surged the most- by 9.2%, and Sainsbury’s increased its prices the least, at 0.59%. Lieferando signs deal with multiple food retailers to grow its reach in Germany

Lieferando has recently signed a partnership deal with food.de, Grovy and Wuplo to offer a wide range of rich foods to consumers in Germany. Lieferando has about 14 million active customers nationally, and its reach is in about 14 different cities in the country. The retail partners will cater to its huge consumer base. Grovy, a Q-commerce and ultrafast delivery startup, has just launched the joint services in Frankfurt, and Wuplo will start its services by next month. Lieferando has already teamed up with giant grocers like 7-Eleven, Asda, One-Stop, Spar and Shell. The firm is launching the dark store model Skip Express Lane in Canada.
