Cognitiwe AI startup will make it easier for grocers to curb food waste

Cognitiwe, an emerging Estonian AI startup, is here to help grocers curb food waste and detect frauds with its predictive image platform. The AI-based tech solution will discover the freshness of fresh produce and specify the environmental footprint of retailers’ food wastage. This system will also provide shelf stock information and planogram analysis for the graphical placement of products. Amazon to enter Belgium by launching a fulfilment centre in Antwerp in 2022

Amazon will go toe to toe with its Dutch competitor Bol.com and will launch its first delivery fulfilment centre in the delivery hub in Antwerp, Belgium.  De Standaard, a Belgian newspaper,  detailed that Amazon will deliver parcels to small and medium-sized local delivery companies and is expanding its capability to meet higher demands. Former state postal service Bpost is the Belgian partner of the e-commerce giant. The new fulfilment centre will create about 250 jobs, 50 direct employees and 200 delivery drivers. Action retailer debuts its first discounter outlet in Spain

Action, a Dutch discounter, has launched its first-ever retail outlet in the northern region of Catalonia, Spain. The non-food discount chain is in the process of launching two new stores in Sabadell and Hospitalet in March this year. The retailer is speedily expanding in the European region and opened a store in Italy last year. It has around 2,000 retail outlets in ten countries now. DoorDash teams up with Albertsons to launch a 30-minute Express Delivery service

When it comes to launching ultrafast delivery services, DoorDash never fails to amaze its customers. Recently, the delivery firm has partnered with Albertsons to launch an ultrafast delivery service. The express delivery service will deliver from about 300 Albertsons outlets and approximately 6,000 grocery products in 30 minutes or less. Fuad Hannon, DoorDash’s VP, revealed that during its pilot program, DoorDash received more orders on Wednesdays, and shoppers placed 44% of orders between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. instead of early morning or evening.
