WGB and Incisiv’s annual Digital Benchmark latest report has ranked different retailers offering the best curbside pickup service to shoppers. As per the report findings, 86% of retailers offer Buy Online, Pickup inStore (BOPIS), while 71% of these grocers now offer curbside pickup. Startup Nourish+Bloom Market partners with UST to roll out about 500 self-checkout stores

Startup Nourish+Bloom Market, an autonomous African American-owned grocery retailer, has teamed up with UST, a tech solution providing firm, to roll out about 500 self-checkout stores in the US. The retailer has launched its debuting store of around 1,500 square feet in Fayetteville, Ga., located at 300 Trilith Pkwy., on Jan. 21. UST’s technology has equipped the stores with self-checkout systems that tally the products and let shoppers escape the tedious lines in grocery stores by scanning QR codes. This technology will also combat food insecurities in underserved communities. UST also provides retail back-office software, the Bistro module, and integration services for diverse systems. The stores also offer robot delivery of grocery orders.

Lowes Foods is the latest grocer to make grocery visits more fun by offering amazing food service, shopping and all-day entertainment. The new test store will be located at 14021 Boren St., Huntersville, and will be 25,000 square feet. The store will have conveniences, including a second-floor mezzanine, which is available for booking events like birthday parties, book clubs, team celebrations, group meetings, or simply as a place to eat or enjoy a drink with family. The store will have a frictionless shopping app called Scan Pay-Go., where shoppers will be able to scan items as they shop and then checkout at specially marked kiosks before leaving.
