Amazon launches Amazon 4-star store on the High Street of UK

Amazon has rolled out its first non-food store on the High Street of the UK named 4-star. The retailer will sell products that have received more than four stars from customers. The outlet will have about 2,000 popular products, including books, consumer electronics, toys, games and homeware. Amazon already operates 30 Amazon 4-star stores in the US. The giant retailer will use digital price tags to ensure the prices remain the same on the website and in-store.

Meng Chee, Walmart’s CPO, got candid with the Think with Google team to discuss the launch of Walmart’s Super App. The grocer is planning to launch a lifestyle app that will offer an integrated omnichannel experience to shoppers. Apart from grocery services, Walmart will eventually add health and wellness, financial and auto care services. Meng Chee discussed three crucial requirements for developing apps: 1, A suitable organizational structure and clear accountability. 2, A framework that employees consistently use and that aligns with how they work in the organization. 3, A collective, integrated approach to brainstorming and solving customer problems.

Tesco rolls out its first-ever checkout-free store in London

Tesco is the latest grocery giant to install hi-tech cameras for product tracking and let shoppers escape the conventional checkout line. The grocer has rolled out its first checkout-free store named GetGo on High Holborn, London. Shoppers will install Tesco’s app and scan the QR code to get into the store. Cameras will tally the products placed in the carts, and customers can leave the stores after picking up their groceries. They will receive a digital receipt on the app and Tesco will deduct the amount from their digital bank accounts.

Little Caesar’s teams up with Warner Bros. to launch a casting call on Tiktok

Little Ceasars, a Detroit-based pizza chain, has launched an open casting call on Tiktok. The chain has announced to cast the next star of its upcoming advertisement and asks everyone to submit their Tiktok videos for the auditions. The ad is about the upcoming big banner movie The Batman releasing in March 2022. Tiktok users will act as the Batman or don the superhero attire. They will be required to tag the official Little Ceasar’s Tiktok handle using the hashtag #BeLikeTheBatman to submit their videos. Brands have started using viral social media apps to cast actors.
