Walmart expands grocery delivery service to New York City via Instacart

Walmart is successfully piloting Instacart delivery of groceries in New York City. New York is a city where retailers find it arduous to deliver groceries. Walmart doesn’t operate any brick-and-mortar store in NYC. However it is using fulfilment centres around it for a smooth delivery via Instacart. The giant retailer is gaining a competitive edge over firms like DoorDash and Amazon, and is well ahead of them as per current updates.  

TikTok surveys consumers to gauge the impact of its app on their behaviour

TikTok teamed up with Kantar, a research firm, to survey about 7,000 Tiktok users. TikTok wanted to know if the time spent on the app is worth consumers’ time through this survey. The results revealed that consumers feel entertained, inspired by the creative videos and connected to the world. They watched the fun content shared on TikTok to escape the negative updates during the pandemic. The findings also showed that 35% of people spend more time on the app and watch less TV. 45% of users spend less time on dating sites after joining Tiktok.

Vori is bridging the tech gaps to augment indie grocers

Vori, a grocery tech startup, is helping mom-and-pop grocers digitize their supply chain through a single app. The startup helps indie grocers get rid of the inefficient grind of traditional spreadsheet inventory tracking. Vori offers a B2B inventory ordering platform to grocers for a smooth supply chain and improved vendor relationships. The firm also provides a lag of all the transactions made in the past and offers data-driven purchase decisions in the future.  Mollie Stone’s Markets, a local grocer in Northern California, has recently invested in Vori and are partners for a few years.
