Sam’s Club, a Walmart-owned warehouse club, is testing a new app-based feature to improve customer experience through technology. Shoppers can digitally browse through aisles and shop essentials that fit in their car trunks. The Scan and Ship feature will let them view all the purchases in a single transaction on their mobiles. This feature is an extension of Scan and Go that lets shoppers tally products while they add items to their carts. Comparable sales have grown at Sam’s Club faster than Walmart over the past year.

Walmart has embarked on the journey to transition into a “Regenerative Company” and shares the list of updated ESG goals. Walmart has delivered a remarkable performance to beat the turmoil caused by the Covid-19 outbreak. Some of the highlights include: Walmart recruited about 50,000 employees who lost their job during the pandemic. Walmart sourced goods and services for its US retail chains worth more than $13bn from 2,900 various suppliers. The retail giant reached a 12.1% reduction in Scopes 1 and 2 emissions and targets zero emissions by 2024. Walmart’s Project Gigaton helped suppliers avoid a cumulative total of 416 MMT of CO2e (Scope 3).
