Walmart partners with Ibotta to offer a new digital rewards program

Ibotta, a leading US-based cashback reward programs platform, signs a multi-layer partnership with Walmart. Walmart and Ibotta will launch a digital cash rebate program to let customers save more while shopping in-store and online. Walmart will transfer redeemed savings to shoppers’ accounts for future Walmart purchases. The retail giant will join Ibotta Performance Network (IPN), which offers seamless cash rebates across multiple social media apps, recipe sites and other platforms.

Zomato, an Indian food delivery startup, is expediting its efforts to raise $1.3 billion in its initial public offering (IPO). The subscription opens on July 14 and closes on July 16. The price range for the startup’s share will be 72 Indian rupees (96 cents) to 76 ($1), with an upper limit valuation target of $8.56 billion. Zomato plans to list on the Indian Stock Exchange. It is the first startup to explore the public markets. Edge, Temasek, Tiger Global and various others are amongst its investors.

Amazon India opens two all-women delivery stores to empower women in the logistics sector

Amazon India has launched all-women delivery stations in Kerala to offer them work opportunities. Delivery Service Partners (DSP) will operate these stations and offer 50 vacant positions to women in the logistics sector. Through DSP’s platform, Amazon India connects with small and mid-sized businesses to provide delivery services. Women employees will attend training sessions and will lead managerial, technical, customer service and other departments. This move will strengthen Amazon’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) responsibility.

Fresh Thyme Market partners with RangeMe to open a hyper-local concept store

Fresh Thyme Market is all set to launch its latest concept store in the Foundry area St. Louis, Missouri. The speciality grocery chain will offer about 1000 local products sourced from the hyperlocal St. Loius area, Meijer, and other grocers to test out new products and services. Meijer is funding and collaborating with Fresh Thyme Market to make it to the concept store’s shelves for the first time. RangeMe, a sourcing platform, will help Fresh Thyme to discover and source the products. RangeMe helps retailers access more than 200,000 packaged goods.

Ocado joins forces with Spanish supermarket Alcampo to establish its e-commerce grocery business

Alcampo, a Spanish supermarket chain, has signed a partnership agreement with UK-based grocer Ocado. Ocado will help Auchan Retail establish a customer fulfilment centre for Alcampo in Madrid by 2024. The partners will work together to build Alcampo’s online grocery business. Alcampo will be able to use Ocado’s in-store fulfilment software to automate its supply chain operations. The agreement involves automating Alcampo’s food and non-food business.
