Aldi rolls out a limited trial of cashierless checkout machines in New South Wales stores
Aldi, a German discount grocer, has launched a limited number of self-service checkout machines. The grocer will place the checkout machines at ten NSW stores initially for trial. Each of the stores will have 8-10 self-service machines. A store in Darlinghurst, Sydney was the first to install these machines. Shoppers are enjoying this innovative checkout system so far, as per Aldi’s spokesperson. The machine tallies the products in the cart and lets the customer make payments through cards.
