Walmart’s “Store of the Future” in Gulfport, Mississippi reopens after remodelling

Walmart’s “Store of the Future” on Highway 49 in Gulfport officially welcomed customers with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Only 20 superstore remodels have been done nationwide, and this is the only one in Mississippi. The painting symbolising Gulfport and the Gulf Coast is the first thing you’ll notice when you enter the grocery side, according to store manager Mike McDavid. Customers will notice the newly rebranded interior of the business as they pass through the entryway.

Recognising how customers’ buying habits have evolved is a key component of the “Store of the Future.” Walmart is now highly involved in the e-commerce industry, according to McDavid. “We are launching a programme called Walmart Plus. We’re actively attempting to direct people to Walmart Plus, our online store, and Walmart.com with our current campaign, Walmart Plus.” Customers who still want to walk inside a store and choose the goods themselves are not ignored either. By using improved lighting, dynamic displays, and digital touchpoints, Walmart hopes to improve the customer experience. More QR codes will be shown, directing customers to more resources and possibilities.
