Walmart and PepsiCo have embarked on a seven-year collaboration to invest $120 million in supporting U.S. and Canadian farmers in adopting regenerative agriculture practises. The main focus of the initiative is to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture across more than 2 million acres of farmland in North America, aiming to achieve approximately 4 million metric tonnes of greenhouse gas emission reductions and removals by 2030. The collaboration will establish financial, agronomic, and social programmes to elevate farmer livelihoods and promote sustainable soil health management. Walmart’s sustainability strategy aims to make sustainable choices more accessible to customers, while PepsiCo seeks to reach its pep+ goals, including driving regenerative agriculture practises across 7 million acres by 2030. This partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing sustainability practises in the agriculture sector.
