Jokr, a German ultra-fast delivery startup, has announced to cease its delivery operations in the US market. The firm will deliver its last delivery patch in Boston and New York City next week. Jokr is instead focusing on growing its business in Latin America and aims to lay off some employees. The company might eliminate 50 workers out of its global workforce of 950 as a part of its remodelling business strategy and will retain some of its staff in New York. Jokr revealed in an Instagram post that the ongoing challenging economic situation is pushing the firm to take this decision. Jokr CEO and co-founder Ralf Wenzel plans to tap Latin America as it is still untapped and underserved by delivery startups.
