Insights for the Food and Grocery Industry

The Place Bridge Academy now has a grocery shop as part of DPS’ Community Hubs initiative.

Denver Public Schools has established a free grocery store in collaboration with Mayor Michael Hancock’s administration to place food stores near their new Community Hub locations in an effort to address food insecurity. Approximately 33% of the population of Denver faces food insecurity, according to city data. Families in the area will receive free food, toiletries, and footwear from the shops. These stores are funded by Amazon and Aetna and channelled through Goodr. Goodr is a sustainable waste management and hunger alleviation organisation with an emphasis on food delivery, pop-up supermarkets, and school-based stores.
