St. Louis-based grocery retailer Schnuck Markets Inc. has introduced new options for convenience at its stores, allowing customers to redeem Schnucks Rewards points and purchase gift cards using self-checkout terminals. Previously, these actions were limited to traditional checkpoints. With the addition of self-checkout options, customers can now access the same perks and products while enjoying the efficiency of self-service. To redeem Schnucks Rewards Points, customers can tap the Schnucks Rewards button on the terminal, open the Schnucks Rewards app, and scan the provided barcode. The company is also set to deploy Instacart’s Caper Carts, which use computer vision and AI to identify items as customers shop, at its St. Louis-area locations in the coming months.
