LocalCircles’ survey shows 50% shoppers plan their grocery cart

Based on a poll by networking platform LocalCircles, more than 50% of Indian consumers who buy food online schedule purchases in advance, including shopping monthly or weekly for favourites in certain situations. In order to understand how consumers behave while using fast service apps and online grocery marketplaces, LocalCircles undertook a pan-India poll. Over 87,000 households in 254 districts responded to the survey on “Consumer Behaviour and Preferences for Online Grocery Shopping in India.”

According to study results, 61% of customers who shop for groceries online prefer a delivery window (3–24 hours) with a delivery charge waiver. Merely 3% of households will pay a delivery price to have their groceries delivered in 30 minutes; 11% of customers will wait up to 3 hours for their groceries in exchange for a little delivery cost. It’s noteworthy that just 3% of respondents said they wanted their goods delivered within 30 minutes for a low delivery cost. According to LocalCircles, this shows that just a small portion of all online grocery shoppers are prepared to pay a charge for prompt supermarket delivery.
