Irish consumers limit spending on luxury grocery items, a Kantar study reveals

As per the latest study by Kantar, consumers in Ireland disbursed €42.6 million less on luxury groceries in the latest twelve weeks ended 7 August 2022.Own-label sales accounted for 46.7% of the total Irish grocery market. The study further elucidated that overall spending on take-home groceries fell slightly by 0.7% in the same period. Consumers spent an additional €14.5 million, which increased the value sales to 1.6% in the last four weeks – a first since February 2021. Over the last month, shoppers made more outlet grocery runs, increasing 2.3% to an average of 19 per consumer.
