IPSOS reveals the changing consumer behaviours with rising inflation

Ipsos, a market research company, shared its new report revealing the latest consumer trends and changing shopping patterns due to the ongoing recession and skyrocketing inflation.

Over half of the American consumers have stopped buying impulsively in stores due to soaring prices. Around one-third of them said they made an impulse purchase within the past week. As per the latest reports from Numerator, grocery prices set new records as they continue to rise. Grocery prices again climbed at the end of the month, up 15.4% from 2021 for the four weeks ending July 31. Ipsos further revealed that 47% of Gen Z members made their last impulse purchase as a treat, making them more emotionally driven than other generations across all channels.
