Grocery shopping trends as Thanksgiving holiday approaches

Kroger disclosed holiday shoppers’ shopping habits before the Thanksgiving holiday. According to a survey performed by 84.51º, Kroger’s data consultant, 85% of consumers surveyed stated that they would appreciate a traditional Thanksgiving feast prepared at home or at the homes of friends and relatives.

As a result, the grocery chain estimates it will sell 55 million pounds of turkey. Along with turkey, consumers have spent their money on cranberries, and with 6.2 million pounds, or 100 truckloads, of fresh cranberries anticipated to be sold, they continue to be a holiday mainstay. Pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies are also the most popular options among consumers, as 4.1 million pies have been bought this holiday season.
