Grocery retailers forge meat industry partnerships for enhanced offerings

Several grocery retailers are strengthening their ties with the meat industry to provide customers with improved options. BJ’s Wholesale Club has partnered with ButcherBox, a direct-to-consumer meat brand, to offer The Grill Box in select BJ’s locations on the East Coast. This collaboration allows ButcherBox to expand its customer base and provide existing customers with the convenience of in-store shopping. Meanwhile, Midwest Quality Wholesale, a subsidiary of Fareway Stores, has acquired Webster City Custom Meats, Inc., demonstrating Fareway’s commitment to the meat industry. Fareway also plans to open a new Fareway Meat Market in Kansas City, Missouri, further expanding its meat market offerings. These partnerships highlight grocery retailers’ efforts to enhance their meat selections and cater to customer preferences.
