Augmented reality and its infusion in the retail industry

Augmented reality (AR) is becoming increasingly popular in the retail business. AR may give consumers a more immersive, personalised, and delightful purchasing experience by superimposing digital information on top of the actual environment. IKEA has just released an app that allows users to visually “position” furniture in their homes. Amazon Salon, a hair salon on Brushfield Street in London’s Spitalfields, opened in April 2021. Using augmented reality technology, customers were able to try on numerous virtual hair colours. The salon was used by the tech behemoth to test the most cutting-edge industry technologies, such as AR-powered hair consultations and point-and-learn technology.
