At a time when consumers are wary of the continuously rising inflation, Delhaize Belgium has a piece of good news. The European retailer is cutting prices of some 500 essential products, and the markdown ranges from 5% to 30%. Delhaize announced to cut prices of products from its private-label range as a measure to tackle inflation and give relief to shoppers. The retailer also offers its SuperPlus programme, a plan that provides discounts on products with a Nutri-Score of A and B. Nutri-Score is a nutritional label which converts the nutritional value of food and beverages into a simple overall score to promote customer education. Delhaize is taking these steps in the wake of the ongoing Ukraine war, rising inflation and energy crisis all over the globe.
