Amazon’s cashier-less stores are going to dominate the grocery industry

The first grocery store in the United States that is not owned by Amazon to adopt their “Just Walk Out” checkout system is Community Groceries in Kansas City, Missouri. Future checkout systems are catching the attention of more and more supermarket stores. The availability of their preferred payment methods is viewed by about one-third of supermarket customers as a crucial factor influencing their loyalty to retailers.

The business has already started bringing the technology to unconventional locations and establishing a presence in athletic stadiums. One rival, Trigo, said in October that it had collected $100 million to develop its StoreOS platform and expand regionally.
