Aldi Süd plans to roll out dozens of retail outlets in China

Aldi Süd plans to tap more countries and expand into China by opening various retail outlets in the country. The retailer intends to open a huge number of stores in Shanghai. Aldi has few stores in the city but now plans to scale up the number of its physical outlets. CEO Roman Rasinger believes that China could offer huge growth opportunities to the retailer and the economy has growing households belonging to the middle class. This makes China the perfect country to visit Aldi and purchase affordable products. Aldi is also keeping up with the increasing digitisation of retail stores and would focus more on e-commerce and delivery services.
