Aldi expanding operations & opening new distribution facility in Tampa, FL

In Loxley, Alabama, Aldi has started a new distribution facility. The initial target market for the 564,000 square foot facility will be the roughly 30 Aldi stores along the Gulf Coast. Aldi’s plans to considerably increase its footprint in the United States are reflected in the new building.

With plans to establish stores in Callaway, Florida; Flowood and Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Aldi has opened a new distribution facility in Tampa, Florida. When all 100 of the stores connected to the warehouse are open, the grocery chain estimates that the facility will service a market of more than 8 million consumers. Aldi aims to eventually employ roughly 200 people at the site after hiring 120 new hires to manage it.
